Award” Nashville, TN (May 21, 2005) Meiko receives a “2005 Kitchen Innovation Award” for the Mike 2 integrated control system at the recent National Restaurant Show in Chicago, Illinois. “Recognition by this panel of judges to be among the most innovative foodservice equipment in the world is a tremendous honor,” states Martin Schenk, President of Meiko. The Mike 2 is a computerized controller with integrated technology that allows communication with a single unit or multiple units using a handheld PC. The control system monitors all aspects of the wash cycle and facilitates programming, identification of information codes and two-way communication with the Meiko factory. The Mike 2 also facilitates one-touch operations such as start-up, timed cycle selection and machine shut down. The Mike 2 can also be used for diagnostics, machine programming or to check individual operating components. The Mike 2 facilitates two-way communication between the Meiko factory and a technician at the customer site. The technician can record an electrical snap shop that includes machine configuration, operating history, service history and current settings. The image can be downloaded and e-mailed to the factory where a technician can analyze the information and reprogramming – either as a general update, or to address the needs of a specific machine. The update is then e-mailed back to the technician who can easily perform the update.
